With a strong background in big mountain snowboarding, Ralph Backstrom, is a rider with a promising future. "Ralphie" has also been riding boardercross for five year even though two of those years have been from recovering from tearing a rotator cuff in 2004. Besides snowboarding Ralph Backstrom has also excelled on an academic side, graduating from Western Washington University in December 2005. This Squaw Valley resident, has been invited to the 2007 X games by placing 2nd at Jabra X in january 2007 and now looks forward to showing his skills at The North Face Masters first stop, in Snowbird, UT.
